Bodil Manz (DK) - a layered oval container
Bodil Manz (DK) - a layered oval container, porcelain, cast into the mold, the skin of the container is stepped, horizontal stripe variants, height 20.5 cm, width at top 27.5 cm, depth at top 20.5 cm, some distortion in the oval (see picture), painted signature, 2003. This item was purchased by the first owners at Galerie Carla Koch, Amsterdam in 2003.
Note on the work of the artist: the porcelain casted objects are first biscuit fired at 900 ºc. After drying, a matt white glaze is added and the object is fired for the second time at 1300 ° C. In a third operation color bands or transfers are applied and the object is again fired on 1300 ° C. In this process and especially in these dimensions it is unavoidable that any distortion occurs. It may also be seen as a sign that despite the high degree of perfection this object is still created in a traditional way.
