Hans de Jong (NL) was during his stay at West-Beemster (1973-1985) very much inspired by the Beemster polder landscape. He has transferred that inspiration on a number of ceramic bowls. In this bowl the horizontal line forms the boundary between land and air, while the vertical line depicts a polder ditch. The bowl on a very small foot is hand built and is somewhat oval. Stoneware, matte glazes, top edge with two notches that accentuate the vertical blue line (ditch). Height 27 cm, diameter top 29.6/27.5 cm, artist's stamp and 82.
