Rozenburg (NL), Plateelbakkerij - a rare tilepicture around 1910
Interesting and relatively rare tile picture, produced by Louis Soonius (1883-1956) for Plateelbakkerij Rozenburg, The Hague (NL). About this tile picture the following can be said: rare because Rozenburg, The Hague was not very often commissioned to make works featuring buildings. 4 x 3 tiles, multi-coloured - in original luxury frame - scene of several gentlemens' houses with stucced gables. Formerly on the Albert Cuypsingel in Dordrecht? Dated about 1910, work order no. 335. Soonius worked on the picture for a total of 115 hours - original picture on the frame with text Labor Omnia Vincit.
This tilepicture is depicted in a catalogue of the Pander & Zn. Company, Lange Voorhout in The Hague. It is presented at the office wall of this firm (see the picture).
