Edouard Chapallaz (CH) - discus vase in magic sang de boeuf

Edouard Chapallaz (CH), a discus vase, turned and modeled, stoneware, nice sang de boeuf glaze, height 31,3 cm; width 32,5 cm; depth at foot 9 cm, around 1978. A similar vase is in the collection of Museum of Design in Zürich.

In the mid 1940s, Edouard Chapallaz (1921-2016) was fascinated with Chinese ceramics from the Song Dynasty. These inspired him to recreate the perfection of their high temperature glazes in his own work.
