From the artist&#8217;s website: &#8220;The English artist Maggi Giles came in 1965 to the Netherlands. A year later she started working at the department &#8220;Building Ceramics&#8221; of\u00a0&#8216;De Porceleyne Fles&#8217; factory in Delft.\u00a0Here\u00a0Maggi Giles met the painter\u00a0Karel Appel. Both artists designed and executed the\u00a0monumental ceramic wall for\u00a0the\u00a0Congress Building in the Hague. Karel Appel attracted\u00a0the attention of Director de Wilde of\u00a0Amsterdam&#8217;s Stedelijk Museum&#8217;s for Maggi&#8217;s\u00a0work.
