    Kees van Renssen (NL) – impressive coffin with trees

    Kees (Ben) van Renssen (NL) – impressive coffin with trees, on four feet, slabbuilt, the trees are hand modelled, sand clay pottery, on the coffin in a grey-green feldspar glaze are two incised ‘family life’ scenes and on the short side a palm tree and a womans arm, signed KvR and (19)78, total height 52.5 cm, width at the foot 23 cm, depth 10.3 cm. Quality fine with small restoration by Noor Camstra / the Netherlands to one of the trees. The last photo is the picture before restoration. This piece is depicted (photo Kees van Renssen) in the invitation of Gallery Het Kapelhuis in Amersfoort (NL) for the solo exhibition with works by Kees van Renssen, which was held from August 26 till September 19 1978. The artist speaks of a coffin. Kees van Renssen was in 1978 inspired by current social and cultural themes.
