De Porceleyne Fles, Delft – plate with ‘Iznik’ decoration

De Porceleyne Fles, Delft (NL) – a so called  ‘Nieuw-Delfts’ plate with an Iznik decoration, without standring. Central a decoration of a honeysuckle-like flower painted in a engobe surface, painter signature XX at the front, three pen ‘damages’ at the rear, dating 1910-1930. Note: at the beginning of the 20e Century designers of the dutch factory were sent to museums in Paris and Berlin to make sketches of the famous collections of ceramics from the Middle East. From this inspiration series of New Persian and New Delfts were developped and produced, all in a typical Arts and Crafts way.
