I’m much more influenced by painters than by potters: especially Matisse. I love bright colours. My pieces are not thrown but made entirely from very fine slabs of porcelain. I don’t like regular forms: nature doesn’t like symmetric and I don’t either. I have done lots of research on colours which I buy from several different suppliers and with an electric kiln, know exactly what result to expect.
