Geert van der Borght is born November 2, 1955 in Aarschot, Belgium. Between 1975 and 1981 he was taught at the Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten, Antwerpen (Prof. Achiel Pauwels – sculptural ceramics) , Per Van Leemputte and Hugo Rabay (throwing at the wheel). Between 1980 and 1981 he is studying for an education certificate. In 1983 Geert is joining the Academie voor Schone Kunsten, Heist-op-den-Berg (Prof. Lode de Preter – sculpting).
