    Barbara Cass (later Wolstencroft) is born in Germany in 1921. She studied sculpture in Berlin. She comes to UK in 1950. Between 1952 and 1961 she runs her studio in York. In 1956 she starts working in stoneware. In the 1950s, Barbara Cass was a frequent exhibitor at Primavera, the influential London gallery owned by Henry Rothschild. In 1962 she moves her workshop to Henley-in-Arden, Warwickshire. She runs also a workshop in Frankfurt. Between 1966 and 1988 she runs a workshop in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire. In 1988 she retires to Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire. She is also known under her married name Barbara Wolstencroft.
