Jens Thirslund is born in Kolding (DK), October 24, 1892. He visited the Technical School in Kopenhagen. He travelled to Berlin to study in the museums the Persian Ceramics. He was taught as a painter. After he came bach home he joined the Herman Kahler factory in Næstved. He married Kahlers daughter. He managed Kahlers factory between 1913 and 1941. He made especially tiles and objects like plates and boxes in tinglaze. Most of the time his work is not signed. In some cases pieces are both signed with HAK and JT.
