Jan Willemen (NL) – two Roman Gods painted on opaline glass

Jan Willemen (NL) is a Dutch glass painter. For this artwork he has cut a large slab of opaline glass into quarters (sectiel). These four parts he has sprinkled with a gold-coloured background. The artist depicted two Roman gods (Jupiter at right, Mercury as a patron saint of traders at left) with their attributes. A double painted edge over the painting. A special and rare item!
