* Marie-France Kok-Adam, Tilepanel “L’Oiseau de ville”

Marie-France Kok-Adam, tilepanel, 3 x 3 industrial press dust tiles, each 109 x 109 mm, handpainted and glazed decoration, depicting a brick city wall and at the back a botanic garden with birds. Executed by the artist in Amsterdam in 1976. This tilepanel is mounted on a black wooden panel. Marie-France Kok-Adam is born in 1944 in Conakry (ex-French Guinea). During her youth she is living in Dakar. Her father is a well known botanic scientist. At the age of twenty Marie-France started to work as an artist drawing plants for the Museum of natural History in Paris. Here she meets the dutch painter Bessel Kok. In 1969 Marie-France and Bessel Kok moved to the Netherlands.The couple has been married and Marie-France started painting tilepanels since 1972. Marie-France died in Amsterdam in 2003.
