Ruth Duckworth (DE/USA), biomorphic open sphere sculpture on hollow base, composed of one part thrown on the wheel and two hand-formed parts, porcelain, interior with horizontal spikes in high-gloss glaze, outside partly transparent matt glaze ending in a brownish haze, height 13,5 x width 15 x depth 11 cm, 1979. This piece was bought by the first owners at Museum Boijmans van Beuningen Rotterdam during the exhibition “Ruth Duckworth ceramics 1979”, 15 December 1979 – 3 February 1980, cat.no. 36. The Rotterdam catalogue is included with this object. Note : small chip lower horizontal part halfway through (see last picture).
