Martin Smith (UK) -“The elliptical series #1”, terra cotta or ‘red ware’, the thick oval shape with sharp edges is mounted on an oval plate painted with a black engobe, polished exterior, interior with Platinum leaf, a diagonally placed slab is painted with a turqoise green engobe, mint condition, bought by the first owners in Galerie De Witte Voet, Amsterdam in 2003. Smith sees himself as an artist, the designs of his work with the mindset of an architect and the careful planning of each piece. In his work, we take kinship with the work of Anish Kapoor.
