Ryozo Miki is born in Osaka, Japan in 1942. In 1960 he studied at the Kyoto Ceramic Design School. Between 1961 and 1966 apprenticeship under the famous Japanese master potter Mitsuo Kano. During this time he exhibited with the Nitten group. He won a ceramic prize at the Kyoto ceramic design centre. Group shows with Nitten, Asahiten, Kyotoshiten and Gendaikogeiten etc. Between 1966 and 1968 he moved to Sweden and started working with Swedish potters. In 1969 he established his own studio in Denmark. In 1976 he moved back to Sweden and established his own studio in Wadköping Örebro. In 2006 he moved to Stockamöllan, Skåne in Sweden and established there his own studio.
