Margarete Schott is born on April 27, 1911 in Berlin-Charlottenburg. Between 1947 and 1948 potter with Starkenburg Keramik in Heppenheim. Between 1948 and 1951 practical training (Lehrwerkstätten für bildende Kunst) at Mathildenhöhe in Darmstadt. Teacher for ceramics there is Fritz Theodor Schroeder. Between 1951 and 1952 she continues her practical studies in the Crowan Pottery in Praze/ Cornwell with Harry C. Davis. Between 1952 and 1961 she is specialist in glazes at the Werkkunstschule Darmstadt. Between 1961 and 1973 she is teacher for German and English language and history. Since 1962 she runs her own studio in Darmstadt-Eberstadt. In 1975 she receives the Westerwaldpreis in Höhr-Grenzhausen (glaze application). Margarete Schott died in 2004.
